and we're back

it's been a little while but i'm back bitches. things with me have been very busy over the past few weeks. has it been 3 weeks? hot damn. i haven't even gotten that many pairs of sneakers since my last post. actually, the aquas are the last pair i bought, and i got them in my hands on christmas night. it was a christmas miracle.

it was difficult explaining to people here that i don't celebrate xmas. they couldnt grasp it. dare I drop the J bomb on em they'd have no idea what i'm talking about. i was able to see a xmas tree in central though and check it out......



not bad. and you'd better believe i dropped the peace on it with both hands. i look like a nixon. i'm a crook. actually mystikal is a crook. that song is inappropriate though so i won't link it. if you know it, you know what i'm talking about. scott definitely knows. anyway as you can see the streets were empty on dec 26th and i have no idea why. maybe they heard eddie was coming and ran for the hills. he was clearly bigger than most of the city, which made me fit in that much more. it was a sweet deal.

i took a quick trip to shanghai which was pretty awesome. i met a person named Any, which i think is supposed to be Annie, but when she told me to call her, she spelled her name Any. this makes my imagination go crazy. what kind of thinking was going on when she decided to take an english name and spell it that way? her name could mean any number of things. oh yeah. see how i did that. that was good. she lives in shanghai and doesnt have a computer. she isnt familiar with the internet. remember when you didnt spend all day on the internet? crazy.

there's the proof right there. pretty ridiculous! i wanted to ride the train all day but i guess that would be counterproductive as we only had 48 hours in shanghai. like the above photos, i didn't shoot that video. i looked it up on youtube and then embeded it. real technology huh. you could have done the same. actually while searching i just noticed there's a train in japan that goes faster. you'd better believe i'm gonna ride that shit. 500 km/h is absurd.

i'm not in my 7th week of mandarin and i'm getting pretty good. lan told me she was really happy with my chinese! then she told me "jew who speaks chinese is number one". now we're fuckin talking! and you idiots questioned why i wanted to learn mandarin. shibuya!



in shanghai we went to this mess hall style restaurant cafe and got some deliciously local food. everyone in the place (dozens of people) all had snails on their tables that they had picked from the food line. we were literally the only idiots with no snails. apparently we missed out on that one. the phrase of '09 is "the snails" as in "damn that new quik track is the snails!" try it, see if you like it, share it. it's a year of sharing.

in other news, i made 1 resolution for 2009. no mcdonalds in the month of January. sounds easy. try being drunk at 3am and walking past 7 mcdiesels on the way home. and it being the only place open. today one of my teachers told me they're now serving curly fries. that does not contribute to my success in regard to my resolution. i repeat. NOT.
